WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE BUYING A LAPTOP......?
RAM
Random-access memory
(RAM ) is a form
of computer data storage. A random-access device allows stored data to be
accessed directly in any random order.
- For basic needs 2 GB RAM is enough....
- For gaming and high utilisations 4 GB
DDR
Double data rate synchronous dynamic
random-access memory (DDR SDRAM) is a class of memory
integrated circuits used in computers. DDR SDRAM, also called DDR1 SDRAM, has
been superseded by DDR2 SDRAM and DDR3 SDRAM, neither of which is either forward
or backward compatible with DDR1 SDRAM -meaning that DDR2 or DDR3 memory
modules will not work in DDR1-equipped motherboards, and vice versa.
Difference between DDR1,DDR2 and DDR3
The main thing we should consider before buying laptop is transfer rate which is very high for DDR3. So i should prefer DDR3. For small and home use 2 GB DDR2 RAM is well enough.
Processor
There are mainly two types of processor by brand
- INTEL
- AMD
These two brand are well established brands..You can prefer any one of these brands
While considering processor we should these factors
- Cache Space : 2 GB is enough
- Clock speed : 1- 2 GHz is enough
Graphics
A graphics processing unit (GPU), also
occasionally called visual processing unit (VPU), is a
specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory
to accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a
display.
Graphics cards are required to play high definition games and also for high definition image processing. Now a days every brands are giving graphic card on board. So you dont worry about the graphic cards.
Some of the common graphic cards are
- Intel HD Graphics
- AMD Radeon HD 6310 Integrated Graphics
Storage
If you are a movie lover you should need 1 TB hard drive. If not you may require 350 GB.
While considering storage you should check the RPM .High RPM means greater speed of assessing you memory. The copy and save rate should be higher with higher RPM. 5400 RPM is enough for a laptop
Battery life
The battery life is the main problem faced by every laptop user. So you should check the battery back up time while considering a laptop. Higher the Back up higher must be the efficiency.
