RRB TECHNICAL SYLLABUS AND SAMPLE QUESTIONS





The candidate who are going to appear for the exam must know that the Railways Technicians Exam will be an objective type question paper consisting of 100 multiple choice questions and the time duration will be given is of 90 minutes for accomplish the written test. On every wrong choice selection their also a negative marking procedure will held according to which 1/3 mark will be deducted from the total scoring marks. The Railway Technician Exam 2012 is  soon going to conduct by the Indian Railways recruitment Board and the question paper will be in different languages English, Hindi and the local languages.





Technician Syllabus - The Question paper will includes the following subjects as core subjects on which the various types of question will be asked -

  • Arithmetic Ability

FCI ASSISTANT GRADE TIRE III SYLLABUS ,SAMPLE QUESTIONS AND DOWNLOAD HALTICKET

EXAM DATE-NOV 11- 2012
Food Corporation of India (FCI), one of the largest Public Sector Undertakings, dealing with food grain supply-chain management called for vacancies for Assistant Grade III in General, Depot, Technical and Account Cadres in its various depots and offices located at five zones  i.e North, South, East, West and North East
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) notified for Combined Recruitment to Category III in the FCI – 2013. SSC will conduct a written examination for the posts, on behalf of FCI under special dispensation given by the Government, on 11 November 2012.

Selection Process

•    Selection to the posts would be done on the basis of a written exam -- Objective Type Multiple Choice questions, followed by a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). The CPT, with components of Word Processing and Excel, will be of qualifying nature. Proficiency in Computers is a must for all the posts
•    The written exam for Post Codes A, B and D will consist of two papers -- Paper-I and Paper-II (200 marks each). Both the papers will be of Higher Secondary or 10th level.
•    Candidates applying for Post Code C will have to appear in Paper-I and Paper-III (also of 200 marks). Paper III will, however, be of degree or graduation level.
•    Candidates short listed on the basis of their performance in Paper-I and Paper-II/ Paper-III will appear for the CPT.

Syllabus :

For Paper I (Post Codes A, B, C, D), candidate will be required to solve multiple-choice objective type questions based on:
•    General Intelligence,
•    General Awareness, 
   General awareness,History,Geography,Constitution,biology,chemistry,Physics...etc

•    Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill)

Arithmetic :
Number System-Natural numbers, Integers, Rational and Real numbers. Fundamental operations addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, Square roots, Decimal fractions.Unitary method-time and distance, time and work, percentages, applications to simple and compound interest, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, variation.Elementary Number Theory- Division algorithm. Prime and composite numbers. Tests of divisibility by 2,3,4,5,9 and 11. Multiples and factors.Factorisation Theorem. H.C.F. and L.C.M. Euclidean algorithm, Logarithms to base 10, laws of logarithms, use of logarithmic tables.
Algebra :
Basic Operations, simple factors, Remainder Theorem, H.C.F., L.C.M. Theory of polynomials, solutions of quadratic equations, relation between its roots and coefficients ( Only real roots to be considered
).Simultaneous linear equations in two unknowns-analytical and graphical solutions. Simultaneous linear equations in two variables and their solutions.Practical problems leading to two simultaneous linear equations or in equations in two variables or quadratic equations in one variable & their solutions.Set language and set notation, Rational expressions and conditional identities, Laws of indices.
Trigonometry :
Sine x, cosine x, Tangent x when 00 ≤x ≤ 900 Values of sin x, cos x and tan x, for x = 00, 300, 450, 600 and 900
Use of trigonometric tables.Simple cases of heights and distances.Areas of squares, rectangles, parallelograms, triangle and circle. Areas of figures which can be split up into these figures (Field Book), Surface area and volume of cuboids, lateral surface and volume of right circular cones and cylinders, surface area and volume of spheres.

Statistics :
Collection and tabulation of statistical data, Graphical representation frequency polygons, histograms, bar charts, pie charts etc. Measures of central tendency.

•    English Language (Basic Knowledge).
In Paper II (for Post Codes A, B and D), the questions would be on
•    Quantitative Methods
•    English Language and Comprehension.
Paper III (Post Code C) will consist of questions in Botany, Zoology, Bio-technology, Bio-chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science and Technology, Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering

General knowledge includes current affairs and history,geography and some scientific aspects.

Elementary Mathematics ( Code No. 03 )

All these tests are intended to judge the mental calibre of a candidate. In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only his / her intellectual qualities but also his / her social traits and interests in current affairs.
